Durness is a Haven amongst some of the last wild landscapes of Scotland. On the very northern tip of the country, looking out over the North Sea towards the Faroe Islands, it’s one of the most remote projects we’ve undertaken, but one we’re very proud of.
Hill Cottage takes advantage of it’s outstanding location with a curved glazed facade, giving panoramic views from every room.
We specified Eco Futural windows and Visoglide Plus doors, all in Textured Anthracite marine grade paint, which blends with a cloudy day in the highlands perfectly.
Shore Cottage posed a different challenge than Hill Cottage, with its barrel shaped structure requiring an arched glazed elevation.
Using Eco Futural, we were able to achieve this organic curved head, the huge spans of glass illuminating the entire length of the space.
We love how the Anthracite Grey profiles coexist with the larch and locally sourced stone used throughout the structure.
